GOOD NEWS!

I have THREE bits of good news to share today. Whoop whoop.

Firstly, many of you may already know of World Without Wine. They are a wonderful online support network, and for several years have been running extremely popular one-day workshops in South Africa on how to change your relationship with alcohol.

(Click here to read an article in Marie Claire South Africa about the World Without Wine workshops).

The exciting news is that World Without Wine are hosting their first ever worship in my home town - London! And they've asked me to help run it.

It's on Saturday, October 6th, to tie in with Sober October, and you can find all the details by clicking here.

There's only enough room for fifteen people, so we can keep it all cosy, and two places have been snapped up already, so if you're interested do book quickly. There's an early bird discount until the end of May too.

I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you in real life.

Secondly, if you're in the UK it's a bank holiday coming up, and it's going to be HOT. So, my friend The Wise Bartender has stocked up on alcohol-free wines, beers and spirits and is offering all readers of Mummy was a Secret Drinker a 5% discount on all deliveries. You just need to quote SOBERMUMMY when you order.

Click here to go to The Wise Bartender online store.

And finally, The Sober Diaries is on special offer on Kindle (for a limited time only) at 99p! Or, if you're in the USA, $1.36. Do tell your friends.

(Click here for Kindle UK, here for Kindle USA and here for Kindle Australia).

Love to you all!

SM x

  1. I'm so excited for the book, but the Kindle USA link takes me to Amazon and the message "This title is currently not available for purchase." I'll try again later, fingers crossed. Thank you!

    1. Argh! I’m so sorry Ruth! My publishers thought that problem had been fixed! I’ll hassle them again!

  2. Thanks for the link to the wise bartender - I’ve tried The Bees Knees sparkling rose (available in Morrisons for £3.50) which is really good but I really really miss red wine. All the alcohol free ones I’ve tried are just dreadful - any recommendations?
Ps - SoberMummy I’m blaming you for my new addiction - Becks Blue!!!

    1. I think the best red is Torres Natureo - it's less sugary than most, with a bit more depth. See what you think...

  3. I normally love your blogs but this one makes me feel rather sad as the whole blog just feels like a hard sell to us vulnerable punters....

  4. @anonymous, bad day? I hope with all the vulnerable and beautiful sharing of sober mummy’s journey some announcement for the good of the group and optional reading anyway might not warrant sour words. Are you struggling today, need support?

    2. I'm so sorry if I misjudged this one. I thought it would be helpful, but really don't want anyone to feel like they're being sold to! This blog is a TOTALLY FREE resource, and I make no money from this blog at all. Apologies again, and big love xxx

  10. Sorry I have not posted before. I think that's amazing that they have asked you to be a speaker. You have been such an inspiration and life saver for me. Without your knowledge and experience I would never have contemplated giving up let alone going through with it. You and everyone else on this blog have keep me going and one day I hope I get the chance to personally thank you. Unfortunately we are at a wedding on 6 Oct otherwise I would have happily attended. Thanks again and many congratulations to you. I really hope that you give to others the inspiration you have given to all of us. Jacqueline xxx

  11. Hi Clare,
My first day 7, I have been ill so not sure it counts! I’m currenty reading your sober diaries, which could have been written by me, all though not so eloquently. Just wanted to say I admire your honesty. It’s refreshing and hilariously funny; if we didn’t laugh we’d cry! The Bad news is the half a tub of salted caramel ice cream I’ve just polished off! So hello and thank you from a new fan xxx
