For example, he doesn't think there is any such thing as an alcoholic. I got a bit sick of by the end of the book and unfortunately it didn't work for me :( A xAngiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07553400229726508527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763877266715908242.post-70875421816551662042015-05-17T12:51:02.366-07:002015-05-17T12:51:02.366-07:00Very interesting post. I too felt like alcohol/wine was an easy solution to the knot in my stomach and that choking feeling in my throat. It's funny; I had this lump/choking feeling in my throat. Thought maybe it was reflux. Thought maybe it was something more serious with my throat/esophagus (my father died fairly young from esophageal cancer); I was really freaked out by this feeling of a lump in my throat. Went to GI dr's, went to ENT dr's and they saw irritation but nothing that was a lump. Then one night, I discovered that hey, after my second (large) glass of wine I didn't feel a lump at all. It was gone! That was a fun few nights testing that theory out but turns out, it was just anxiety after all. It is a very interesting thought to think that it is the alcohol increasing/causing the anxiety and not the alcohol relieving the anxiety. What a vicious cycle that is! Really giving me something to think about today! I am currently reading his book, so I am in this mindset totally. Jason is correct. There are NO benefits at all in consuming alcohol. The false beliefs that we have all harboured for years advocating the benefits of alcohol are a result of a distortion caused by the drug itself. It is a revelation and a massive confidence boost when you can see this distortion for what it is.
We CAN and WILL enjoy everything in life as non drinkers of alcohol that we mistakenly thought we enjoyed as consumers of alcohol. The difference however is that the enjoyment is real and not an illusion created by the effect of a poison.
Thank you SM and have a great weekend xTallaxohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13386522171119897358noreply@blogger.com
