I'm with Tallaxo here, tricky indeed - the research is muddied by those who pay for it, much like the Tobacco Industry, a couple of decades ago, and similar to the Food Industry. I thinks it's simple - the cause of alcohol addiction is Alcohol, the way to stop it, is to not take the drug. It is a sunny Sunday here too, have a great one xxJackiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09236064383725290818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763877266715908242.post-91357482740323276032015-06-07T06:56:44.466-07:002015-06-07T06:56:44.466-07:00Congratulations LNM!!! This is indee...Congratulations LNM!!! You Rock!
This is indeed a tricky debate. I think it IS a disease, but it is an avoidable disease. The drinks industry in this country employ teams of very powerful lobbyists to argue against regulation and our government quite frankly do not have the Cojones to stand up to them.
They are well aware of how alcohol and other psychoactive substances 'hijack' the dopamine reward pathways in the brain that can lead to full blown addictions.
It is in thier interest and the interest of profit and greed to keep this information as surpressed as possible.
Education is the key here, knowledge is power. Had I known all those years ago that alcohol was as addictive as I know it to be now, I may well not have taken that 'first' drink. There seems to be a steady tide of resentment building against alcohol, helped sadly by the recent demise of Charles Kennedy. Long may it continue. I hope the sun is shining where you are as bright as it is here SM. Have a lovely Sunday. xTallaxohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13386522171119897358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4763877266715908242.post-77743307829617729342015-06-07T02:37:34.777-07:002015-06-07T02:37:34.777-07:00Hangover free living rocks!
